Featured Students

The Chickasaw Foundation Student of the Month program recognizes and honors students who display good citizenship, are respectful to peers and program staff, have strong program participation, leadership qualities, a positive attitude, demonstrate responsibility, have community service and cultural/tribal activity participation and demonstrate a positive academic work ethic.

The program started in September 2006, and recognized the following students during the 2008-2009 school year.

Chickasaw Foundation Student of the Year

On June 30th, Ms. Kayla Ritter was selected as the 2008-2009 Chickasaw Foundation Student of the Year.

Kayla was previously selected as the February 2009 Student of the Month. She is a recent graduate of Bray High School and has been a member of Upward Bound since she was a freshman.

Kayla received numerous awards in high school including the perfect attendance award, top reading points, and highest grade in US History as well as being named to the principal and superintendent's honor rolls. She was also selected to attend the leadership conference for Upward Bound.

Kayla carried a 3.67 grade point average. She is involved in community activities such as volunteering for the Children's Fair and the Chickasaw Foundation T-ball Tournament, donating toys and food to the less fortunate and collecting goods for soldiers.

Kayla loves to spend time with her animals, enjoys plays and museums with her family and curling up with a good book.
